SONAE DRAGONS’ DEN AWARD

The Dragons’ Den Award is given to the JA-YE student company which makes the best presentation and discussion.

Dragons' Den is a venture-capitalist television programme that was originated in Japan. The format is owned by Sony and partially Microsoft and Taimoor. The format, which is now broadcast internationally, consists of entrepreneurs pitching their ideas in order to secure investment finance from business experts — the "Dragons".

At JA-YE Europe Trade Fair, Lisbon 2010, some companies will be previously selected to prepare a Power Point presentation. Each business idea will be pitched in front of a panel of juries.

Rules
The participants have what they consider to be a viable and potentially very profitable business idea, but who lack funding and direction. The students pitch their idea to a group of juries (entrepreneurial businesspeople) – the “dragons” (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXO4Ki8qsvk).

The student (only 1 element from the company) has 2 minutes to convince and present their business idea. After the presentation the student must be prepared for 3 minutes of hard questions from the jury of Dragons’ Den.

Each company that would like to apply for the Dragons Den Award must send a Power Point presentation (5 slides maximum) to
erica.nascimento@japortugal.org until the February 28th. The best presentations will be previously chosen by the company that sponsors the Dragons’ Den Award. The results will be revealed on the 8th of March.
